Munich, 8 July 2024: BEOS AG and TRIWO AG announce significant new lease at the Air Tech Campus in Oberpfaffenhofen. Safran Passenger Innovations Germany GmbH will rent around 3.000 square metres at the special-purpose airfield as of 1 December 2024. More than 90% of the rental space is taken up by offices. The remaining 270 square metres contain external storage and roof space for the installing satellite and antenna systems as well as other infrastructure.

The wholly-owned subsidiary of the French Safran Group has entered into a long-term commitment to centre of innovation west of Munich, which will span ten years. Furthermore, the parties have agreed on two five-year extension options. The contract also includes an option right for an additional extension building for Safran Passenger Innovations Germany GmbH’s internal expansion strategy.

“In entering into a lease with one of the world’s leading aerospace technology groups, we have demonstrated that Oberpfaffenhofen is one of the most important centres of innovation and a hotspot for the entire sector in Germany. With its location in the heart of Europe, the site is extremely attractive from an international perspective for the fastest-growing companies in the aviation sector,” explains Pascal Warnke, who is a project manager at BEOS AG and is leading the project at the Air Tech Campus.

“We are delighted to have found a new home at the Air Tech Campus in Oberpfaffenhofen that ideally meets our needs. The excellent connections to Munich and the modern environment offer us ideal conditions in which we can grow and innovate,” says Núria Riera Díaz, Managing Director at Safran Passenger Innovations Germany GmbH.

As part of a green lease agreement, the companies have agreed on a sustainable and transparent building management approach. This includes installing a refrigeration system with concrete core activation and heat pumps to provide heat for the site.

With around 60 companies employing 10000 staff, the Air Tech Campus in Oberpfaffenhofen is Germany’s most important aerospace location. Covering a total of 236000 square metres, the campus comprises more than 50 research, production, warehouse and office buildings as well as a number of aircraft hangars. The site also offers considerable new construction potential on the planned airfield site and the open spaces of the adjacent commercial areas. In the past seven years alone, more than 75000 square metres of rentable space and five kilometres of access roads have been built in order to continually make the research and development location more attractive.

Together with TRIWO AG, BEOS AG is responsible for the strategic development of the Air Tech Campus in Oberpfaffenhofen and is responsible for active asset management, while TRIWO AG, as the operator of several airports in Germany, manages flights and special operations. The campus was awarded the Real Estate Manager Award in the “Management” category in March 2024 in recognition of how the value of the site has been continually increased.
